- What is Erasmus?

It is an opportunity to live an unique experience in a European country, while validating your year of studies in your university. You have the possibility to leave on Erasmus once per degree (bachelor, master, doctorate) for a minimum of one year. AND YOU SHOULD LIVE THIS ADVENTURE !

- Leaving on Erasmus yes, but where?

That's up to you. Indeed, I personally made the choice to go to Scotland, a country where I knew I could easily come back to France for the Christmas holidays and to take my exams for next year. 

I think it is also important to take into account the quality of life that the country offers and its standard of living in order to guarantee you an enjoyable year and, above all, one that will not cost you more than you can afford. If you can't afford it, I would strongly recommend a destination where life is cheap. Last but not least, the choice of your Erasmus destination is based on the language you wish to learn. If it is English, you will go to an English-speaking country, if it is Spanish, a Spanish-speaking country... 

Finally, I strongly recommend that you leave for a full school year because a semester is often too short to really enjoy this adventure. 

- Erasmus atmosphere

The Erasmus year is relatively cool: the teachers are nice and even take into account that we are foreigners, we don't have a lot of classes... the atmosphere that comes out of it is only better! It gives you the opportunity to meet new people and broaden your horizons by traveling, engaging in unusual activities ...

- Courses and rhythm of life

We're not gonna lie to each other, we are on a pretty light schedule during Erasmus year. I have classes three days a week. You are probably wondering, what do we do when we don't have classes? Some work, some travel, some preparation of our exams... Travelling is the hobby I have chosen: every month or so, a new destination. The fact that the weeks are not very busy has also allowed me to take up sport assiduously and to concentrate myself on preparing my applications for next year.

- In conclusion

Finally, everyone is living their Erasmus year the way they want! You will be able to stay with French people, or enjoy cultural exchange with foreigners. You will be able to go out several evenings a week while validating your year. Or you can do sports! It's a year that offers time for yourself, and it's up to you to use it the way you want! Above all, it's a year you'll never forget!
